Small medium-sized company invests in computer tomograph

ZEISS METROTOM

Formtechnik Dr Hasel GmbH manufactures complex technical plastic parts for various industries. In order to fulfil the demanding quality requirements of its customers and to cope with the constantly increasing time and cost pressure, the medium-sized company invested in a computer tomograph from ZEISS. Since then, the system has accelerated the processes in quality assurance and mould construction and has made it possible to produce moulds up to 9 weeks faster.

Future-oriented measurement technology

Industrial computed tomography

Industrial computed tomography

We use the latest CT technology to analyse workpieces in three dimensions, capture internal structures and identify even the smallest defects – quickly, precisely and reliably.

Industrial CT offers a completely new dimension in quality assurance and product development. Thanks to high-resolution 3D scans, concealed geometries, undercuts and internal contours can be analysed seamlessly. The component remains intact – a decisive advantage for sensitive or difficult-to-access components.

Non-destructive testing at the highest level

3D measurement technology

This technology is particularly suitable for:

Production inspection – ensuring dimensionally accurate production
Defect analysis – detection of blowholes, air inclusions and material defects
Geometry comparison – comparison of actual and target data for quality control
Digital reference samples – creation of space-saving 3D data models instead of physical samples

Future-oriented measurement technology

Reverse Engineering

Another advantage of computed tomography lies in reverse engineering. Digital reverse engineering can be created based on the 3D scan data – ideal for
Reconstructing defective or worn components
Creating missing drawings and CAD data
Tool correction and optimisation to reduce iterations
Data preparation for 3D printing

The generated solid models can be further processed via common standard interfaces (IGS, STEP) and integrated directly into development processes.

Efficient measurement technology

for the industry of tomorrow

Our industrial CT technology is a powerful tool for a wide range of industries – from automotive and aerospace to medical technology. With a single scan, we capture all geometries, create complete measurement point clouds and deliver precise data for further analyses.

Maximum precision, complete transparency and non-destructive testing – computed tomography sets new standards in measurement technology.
